2008 April Give-Away Winner
The following organizations have been nominated for the Crazy April $1,000.00 giveaway.
- Seminole Elementary School PTA whose goal is to support the schools mission of highest student achievement.
- 5th Grade Class At Seminole Elementary School whose goals are literacy, developing life long readers and providing exposure to award winning literature.
- SYAA-Seminole Santos Soccer Club - Hammers U12 Boys. Goals are promoting and enhancing the culture of Soccer and to develop skills, confidence, fitness, initiative and a sense of teamwork.
- Seminole Jr. Warhawks Youth baseball & softball www.jrwarhawks.com
- Camp Soule Florida Adirondack renovation project. This project will help area members of the Boy Scouts of America, and our youth in general.
- YWCA of Tampa Bay-Eliminating Racism & Empowering Women. The philosophy of the YWCA is to enable individuals to achieve their full potential, enhancing the family unit and strengthening communities. Mission and Strategic Goals: Established locally in 1919, the YWCA is an autonomous organization, and an accredited, nonprofit, 501 (c) (3) member affiliate of the YWCA of the USA. This mission is to provide leadership for social change, work to achieve peace, justice, equality, and dignity for all. We provide services that develop youth and strengthen women and children. Strategic Goals for the YWCA of Tampa Bay are: The economic empowerment of women and the elimination of racism. YWCA services foster our organization’s vision and belief in: childhood without fear; generation of hope; second chances; and a hate-free community. October 1, 2006 – September 30, 2007 YWCA Highlights: 2,444 families received intensive home visitation services to prevent child abuse and neglect; 444 families were enrolled in our Child Development Centers; 1,536 individuals received support through our Hispanic Outreach Center; 501 residents, representing 156 families were provided with emergency or transitional housing, food, clothing, counseling and support services by Family Village Housing and Support Services; 251 Teen Pregnancy Prevention Presentations were completed and 237 individuals received Teen Parenting Educational Support; and 269 girls between the ages of 9-17 participated in our Youth Development/Girls’ Leadership Program. www.ywcaoftampabay.org
